Reflections
I write this a month after the dinner.
It’s a really precious thing to be in a room full of people where you have no one to impress, where you don’t have to try, and where people know who you really are.
Whether I can replicate that in some other room again one day or not… I have the memory of what it was like on that evening.
Of all of the things I take away, it’s the memory of what that feels like that seems the most significant.
You all, individually and as a group, have set a very high standard for the kind of people I want in my life.
The theme was This Changes Everything. I thought I would have some great epiphany or get visibility of some long forsaken blind spot. Instead, I have a reference point for what belonging truly feels like. And that changes everything.
